CST Interview Course Overview
Our CST Interview Preparation Course gives you complete, structured training for both Station 1 and Station 2. There is no guesswork and no gaps. Everything is designed to give you clear, focused preparation so you can stand out on the day.
Station 1 - Clinical and management scenarios
In this station you will learn how to approach:
- Clinical scenarios including: high-frequency surgical presentations, perioperative and postoperative complications, trauma and emergency decision making, and communication in clinical context.
- Management scenarios including: team and communication challenges, patient safety and risk management, service efficiency and operational issues, ethical and professional scenarios.
Station 2 - Portfolio-related questions
In this station you will learn how to:
- Deliver a strong opening presentation. We will show you how to create a clear, confident introduction that sets up the rest of the station.
- Handle follow up questions. You will practise answering the types of questions interviewers commonly ask after your presentation. These cover areas such as quality improvement and clinical audit, teaching and training, leadership and management, research and academia, commitment to surgery, professionalism, multidisciplinary working, and understanding the wider NHS.
