The delivery options explained

Three ways to develop your staff.

Choose training for doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, managers or wider teams. The format depends on the subject and the way your staff need to learn.

AT YOUR VENUE

In-house training

A trainer delivers a live course face-to-face at your organisation. Colleagues learn together through discussion, exercises and practical application, with the arrangements agreed for your group.

LIVE ON ZOOM

Live online training

Staff attend a scheduled, interactive session with a trainer. They can ask questions and take part in discussion without travelling. Arrange training for your organisation or places on an existing course.

INDEPENDENT ONLINE STUDY

Self-paced learning

Staff work through online material around their commitments. Some programmes combine independent study with a live webinar to consolidate or practise the learning; these are identified in the table.

In-house availability: all live courses can be delivered at your organisation except Advanced Communication Skills, Clinical Governance and NHS in Practice, which are delivered live online. Individual coaching is a separate service; its arrangements are discussed separately.

Beyond a standard course

Training shaped around your team.

For selected subjects, we can adapt an established course or discuss a bespoke programme around your staff and the situations they need to handle.

For example, coaching and mentoring, public speaking, negotiation and assertiveness can be commissioned as live training on Zoom or at your organisation.

The scope of any adaptation is agreed with you. Not every subject is available in every format, and a live webinar included with e-learning is different from commissioning a complete live course.

The audience and objectives

Discuss who is attending, their experience and what you want them to be better equipped to do.

The content and examples

Identify the topics and workplace situations to emphasise, where adaptation is suitable.

The delivery and time available

Agree the format, duration, group arrangements and pricing for the proposed training.

Support for career progression

Interview courses and one-to-one coaching

Organisations can arrange support for staff preparing for their next appointment. These services help candidates prepare for an interview; they are distinct from teaching staff coaching and mentoring skills.

Learn and practise in a group

Group interview courses

Trainer-led preparation, question practice and feedback for the type of post candidates are applying for. The content follows the relevant course, rather than one generic programme for every career stage.

Consultant interviews
Present experience, achievements and contribution at consultant level, with question practice and a formal mock interview.
Internal Medicine Training (IMT)
Prepare for the IMT interview, including application and suitability, professional questions and relevant clinical and communication elements.
Core, specialty and registrar interviews (CT/ST)
Develop clear, authentic answers and practise the question types relevant to training and competitive clinical posts.
Academic Clinical Fellowship (ACF)
Work on academic motivation, research experience, methodology, critical appraisal and interview practice.
Dental core and specialty training
Prepare for dental recruitment interviews through relevant questions, scenarios and feedback.
Delivery optionsLive online on Zoom or in-house. Discuss a course for your group or places for staff on scheduled courses.
Preparation centred on one person

One-to-one interview coaching

A dedicated appointment to practise answers, review their content and delivery, and identify what to work on next. Coaching is tailored to the person's experience and the appointment they are seeking.

Training and clinical fellow appointments
Motivation, suitability, achievements and non-clinical professional questions, using the application and intended role.
SAS doctor appointments
Preparation for doctors entering SAS posts and for specialty doctors, associate specialists and specialist doctors planning their next move.
Consultant appointments
Explain clinical experience, leadership, governance and the wider contribution the candidate can make to a service.
Salaried GP and GP partnership appointments
Prepare around the practice and role, including partnership responsibilities, teamwork and business awareness where relevant.
Senior NHS leadership appointments
Prepare for leadership and management interviews, including Clinical Director, Medical Director and senior management roles.
Delivery optionsIndividual live online sessions on Zoom. Standard appointments last 90 minutes. Discuss the appropriate service, scope and arrangements for each member of staff; in-person coaching is not assumed.

Scope matters: group interview courses and individual coaching do not necessarily cover the same components. Our non-clinical coaching services do not provide clinical knowledge teaching or diagnosis-and-treatment practice; we will help you identify the appropriate preparation.

Support for independent preparation

Books and learning resources

Organisations can also obtain interview books and other learning resources for staff. For example, the CT/ST medical interview guide explains question types, answer techniques and relevant NHS topics for candidates preparing independently.

Resources can be discussed alongside course places or coaching. Contact us about the titles and quantities you need.

Before you enquire

Practical questions.

Discuss the audience, course and delivery arrangements with us. Corporate enquiries use the dedicated number below.

Call 0203 507 0002
Who is the corporate service for?

NHS trusts, hospitals, independent providers and other healthcare organisations developing their staff. We can discuss learning for doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, managers and wider teams, with the audience agreed for each programme.

Do we need to know which course to request?

No. Start with your staff group and the skills or situations you want the training to address. We can discuss which course, delivery format or selected bespoke option is appropriate.

Can we arrange a course just for our staff?

Yes. Discuss live training for your organisation on Zoom or, where available, at your venue. You can also arrange places on existing courses or access to online programmes. The practical arrangements and price are agreed with you.

Which courses cannot be delivered in-house?

Advanced Communication Skills, Clinical Governance and NHS in Practice are live online courses and are not available in-house. All other live courses can be delivered at your organisation. This does not automatically make every self-paced course a live course; the comparison table distinguishes those options.

Which online subjects are also available as live corporate courses?

Coaching and mentoring, public speaking and presentations, negotiation, and assertiveness and influencing can all be delivered as live corporate courses on Zoom or in-house, as well as being available through online learning.

What does "self-paced with live webinar" mean?

Staff first study online material independently, then attend the included live session to consolidate or practise their learning. This applies to the online leadership, Teach the Teacher, coaching and mentoring, assertiveness, and public speaking programmes shown here. A short included webinar is not the same as commissioning a complete live course.

What does a dash in the table mean?

A dash means that no standard option is listed in that format. The table distinguishes complete live courses from self-paced programmes and their included webinars. Contact us to discuss the available options for your staff.

Can we combine subjects or tailor the content?

For selected topics, yes. We can discuss the audience, objectives, examples and time available, and agree an appropriate scope. Bespoke delivery is not assumed for every product or every possible request.

How long are the courses, and how many people can attend?

The descriptions give the established duration where stated. For commissioned or adapted training, duration and group size are agreed according to the subject, intended learning and delivery format. Standard self-paced programmes retain their own access and completion arrangements.

Are coaching and mentoring training and interview coaching the same thing?

No. Coaching and mentoring training develops staff skills in supporting other people. Interview coaching gives an individual help preparing for their own job interview. Both are available, but they serve different purposes.

What about CPD and certificates?

The arrangements depend on the course and agreed format. Tell us what evidence staff need so we can confirm the certificate and CPD arrangements for the chosen programme. We do not assume that every bespoke session has the same accreditation.

How do we obtain a price?

Call 0203 507 0002 or email enquiries@iscmedical.co.uk. Tell us your organisation, the topics, approximate participant numbers, preferred format and possible dates. We will discuss options and pricing; you do not need a finished specification.
