CONTENT OF ISC'S MANAGEMENT & LEADERSHIP COURSE FOR DOCTORS
Our medical management and leadership course is suitable for doctors at all grades, as well as managers and senior nurses. During the course of those extremely informative and interactive two days, you will discover and practise world-leading leadership and management techniques, including:
- Self management: Understand when and how to use assertiveness to gain commitment as opposed to compliance, and how to deal with passive aggressive behaviours;
- Effective time management: Learn to identify and deal effectively with time thieves.
- Emotionally intelligent management: Learn about the the concept of resonant and discordant managers. Identify your own level of emotional intelligence and learn how to improve it.
- Negotiating and writing business cases: Learn how to to deal with difficult situation, assert your points and boundaries, demonstrate assertiveness and reach consensus. Understand what makes good and bad business cases and how to gain buy-in from stakeholders.
- Leading and managing teams: Learn how to define, and ensure high performance. Understand the different stages of development of teams and how you can help your teams move through their various development stages.
- The manager as a coach: Discover the Whitmore GROW model and take part in coaching role plays using "live" coaching. Learn how to give effective feedback and motivate others.
- Motivational leadership: Consider what motivates people and learn about the Herzberg model.
- Inspirational leadership: Discover the Kouzes and Posners 5 factors of inspirational leadership and how to apply them to your teams.
