CONTENT OF THE GPVTS / GPST INTERVIEW  COURSE

ISC Medical's one-day GPVTS / GPST course is an intense and very interactive course (no more than 12 participants on each course) which will enable you to gain plenty of valuable practice. We run two types of courses:

  • Stage 2 & 3 courses (up to the Stage 2 exam on 21 February 2009).
Cover all stages of the GP VTS selection, including EMQs & SJTs, role play, group discussions & prioritisation exercises.

  • Stage 3 courses (after the Stage 2 exam on 21 February 2009).
Cover Stage 3 only, with more role play and group discussion practice, and full discussion on prioritisation scenarios

Throughout this intensive day, you will learn:

Essential practice for Stage 2, including Situational Judgement Tests
How to perform confidently in role plays / simulated consultations
How to approach and stand out in group discussions
How to handle Stage 3 task prioritisation questions
How to deal with other important aspects of Stage 3 selection.

To ensure that you can participate as much as possible, we limit the course to a maximum of 12 participants. We run courses regularly throughout the GP VTS / GP ST selection preparation period.

HOW WE ACHIEVE OUR HIGH SUCCESS RATE

Small groups of 12 participants only.
Have you ever wondered why our competitors don't tell you how many people they have on their courses? That's because they have 30, 50 or even up to 150 in a big theatre! By limiting the group to 12 people we can give you our full attention during the day.
You can then get personal feedback and a chance to practice throughout the day, which is crucial when it comes to role-play and group discussions.

High success rate and recommendation rate
With a success rate of over 85% and a recommendation of nearly 100% for our GPST/GPVTS courses, you can trust us to give you the understanding and methods that you need to success in your GPVTS/GPST assessment. We achieve this by giving you plenty of attention and practice, coupled with our trainers' insight into the selection process - they have been there!

The course is for GPVTS/GPST ONLY, not for anyone else.
We do not mix you with doctors applying for hospital jobs. On our courses, you are guaranteed to be in a small group of people applying ONLY for GP training positions, with a unique format and total relevance to the GPVTS / GPST process. This means we can spend the whole day dealing with issues specific to you only.

Our trainers are experts at teaching you everything you need to know.
Our courses are designed by a mix of GPs, GP Registrars and Communication experts. All have a thorough understanding of the GPST recruitment process. Together we can achieve this unique blend of clinical and communication expertise that you will find nowhere else.

You will receive plenty of personal attention throughout the day
Not only will the small number of participants allow you to practice often during the day, you will also have personal access to the trainer to discuss your personal issues before the course, during all the breaks and after the course. Perhaps you have a background that is unusual or a particular feature of your past training that you want to discuss in more depth. We will give you all the time you need!

Sharpen your GPVTS / GPST Interview skills with our course specifically designed for the GP VTS / GP ST selection process.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY

"I had read your GPVTS/GPST books and now came to the course. It was brilliant! I really enjoyed the role play. The trainers were so convincing and really tested us. I particularly appreciated the feedback which I got from the trainer throughout the day. I could have hoped for a better course and it really paid off since I got the post." Sandra, GPVTS Northern Deanery

"Certainly the best GPVTS course available. The small group approach really ensures that everyone can participate. You have the best format! I went to two other courses before but one of them made you have a go at role play without supervision so it wasn't useful and the other one was more like a lecture. You are the best!" Ranj, GPVTS Eastern Deanery

"I have already recommended your GPVTS course to 5 of my friends. It was absolutely brilliant. The group discussion and role play practice was intense and extremely encouraging. In fact some of the role plays done at the course actually came up at the exam so it was a real bonus to have practiced them beforehand". Prea, GPVTS, West Midlands Deanery

"Having gone to three other courses I can honestly say that this GPVTS course is the best around. Everyone got some proper supervised practice at role play and group discussion, and I felt really confident on the day of the assessment." Rhea, GPVTS in London Deanery

"Excellent tutor - one of the best tutor I have ever met before. Transparent, positive and encouraging with a constructive way of feedback that will benefit me throughout my life. Thank you !! It really helped me to realise how much I need to prepare and guide me through. An excellent course run be an excellent and talented trainer." Charles, GPST 1 Southwest Peninsula Deanery

"Really the best course around. When everyone other course just does general stuff in big groups, I feel you really provide value for money by keeping the number of participants to a small number" David, GP ST3, Scottish Deanery

"An excellent course that I will certainly recommend to all my friends. Being a small number was certainly a massive bonus! Olga, GPST 1, Peninsula Deanery
